- Soledad The Tarahumara Indians were forced to leave their native lands in the Copper Canyon of Mexico due to severe droughts over the past 10 to 15 years. Many have relocated to government appointed locations or ghettos in Chihuahua City that are rife with drugs, alcohol, and abuse. LightShine ministry is called to work in these communities, bringing them the Light of Christ. This begins first with a children’s program that includes a nutritious meal, teaching of the Word of God, reading classes, social-emotional classes, discipleship, prayer time, and many other avenues for spiritual growth. Soledad is to be the second community reached through LightShine. Soledad is very impoverished , the sun is oftentimes intense and the wind is typically blowing dust and dirt. Land was purchased earlier this summer and permits to build are in the works. Money raised will go to: missionary for 1 year VISION “No Waiting Children in Colorado Foster Care by 2014” “Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.” James 1:27
